More about Cornish Manuka

This Manuka is grown in the Botanical Garden at the heart of the Tregothnan Estate in Cornwall. Tregothnan is passionate about growing and collecting plants, they have many rare specimens including the Manuka which they have been growing for over 100 years.

Native to New Zealand, legend has it that explorer and botanist Captain Cook drank Manuka tea when he first visited the island in 1770.

Believed to have great antibacterial and medicinal properties many Manuka products are coined 'superfoods' and we certainly think it is super. Manuka has a unique flavour, floral and sweet with woody notes.

Infuse a heaped teaspoon per person in boiling water for a few minutes.

Its aromatic leaves are wonderful for smoking fish and ham and particularly delicious sprinkled over roast vegetables.
