This Spring I visited Makaibari in Darjeeling and brought home some of the finest first flush black tea I've ever tasted. Utterly unique the tea of Makaibari is always astounding but this year's first flush is really exceptional.
No other farmer takes as much care of the land and the people who live on it than Rajah Banerjee. You can taste the rich biodiversity and deep love and pride in his tea.
This exceptional black tea is as soft as a green tea but as rich as an oolong.
Best enjoyed without milk and so sweet it needs no sugar.
