My new favourite black tea

I discovered the Malawi Huntingdon Hand Rolled Black Tea as a sample added to my order. It immediately jumped to my favourite top 3 teas I like to drink all the time. And although I thought of ordering tea from the rareteacompany more as a rare thing, I am doing it again and again - because the teas are just so good. Actually all the Malawi teas absolutely won my heart.

Delicate but not weak

I tried this delicious tea with its unfurling leaves for the first time today and was amazed by its character. As stated on the website description, this tea is robust enough to take a dash of milk but retains delicate honeyed tones. Will definitely buy this great find again.

Tasting Notes

Rich as an Assam with spicy top notes and honey blossom aroma. Remarkably for such an elegant hand-made tea it has enough body to take milk.

Quantity

Use 2.5g of tea per 150ml of water.

Temperature

For the optimum infusion use 80°C (176°F) water.  If you like milk, use 90°C (194°F) water.

Time

Infuse for 1 - 2 minutes, tasting regularly.

Infusions

You can infuse this tea at least twice.  With each careful infusion, different subtleties of flavour are revealed.

33p per cup based on 2.5g of tea per 150ml of water and 2 infusions.
