The belief in doing things well has persevered at Tregothnan: the Estate has stayed within the same family since 1335. At the heart of the Estate is the private Botanic Garden. Tregothnan is passionate about growing and collecting plants, including many rare specimens and this passion is the inspiration for cultivating the first ever English Estate Tea.
Seven years of trials have been undertaken to achieve this tea that really deserves every accolade. It's certainly the best Earl Grey we have ever encountered. The rare English tea leaves are blended with some of the finest Assam and flavoured with real bergamot oil, Citrus Bergamia.
A wonderfully bright tea it can be enjoyed with a twist of lemon in place of milk.
The leaves will make at least two infusions. The second pot is even more delicious than the first.
