Turmeric for health

I had been slicing and drying fresh Turmeric which is a time consuming process. Then I discovered that Rare Tea was selling dried Turmeric which can be ground or left as it is- brilliant. I make and drink Turmeric tea every morning with a squeeze of lemon- lovely.

Rare Indian turmeric

Lovely and smooth, using it in my cooking and enjoying a nice cuppa with it, much better than the tea bag variety.

A turmeric that redefines turmeric

I've been cooking with turmeric in both powdered and dry-root forms, mostly from Indian groceries in the Bay Area and in Bangkok, none of which prepared me for this amazing Himalayan turmeric root. Its color, aroma, and taste are unprecedented in my experience, and a friend I shared it with had the same response. In short, it's SO GOOD that I've had to rethink all my familiar recipes using turmeric and now am happily experimenting with some new ones, and infusions.

Tasting Notes

This strikingly golden-hued Indian spice has a pungent, earthy-sweet taste. The flavour is deeper and richer than powdered versions of the spice.
