Lovely honeyed flowers

This tea was a revelation! I wasn’t expecting to get much flavour, or if I did, I thought it would be overpoweringly floral. But this tastes of honey and nuts and other delicious things. I did go against the advice and brew at 95 degrees, as I wasn’t too fond of the artichoke flavour. Have bought more for me, and for friends who don't drink caffeine.

A Tea Lover’s Crown Jewel

I’ve always been a devotee if strong black teas, like a bold Darjeeling or breakfast tea. But when I first heard about this herbal tea carefully harvested from Spanish almond blossoms I was mysteriously intrigued and snatched some up. The moment the hot water met the leaves in my cup, the aroma of the steam that wafted up into my face was absolutely divine—sweet, floral, and herbaceous. I sipped the pale gold brew as it steeped, and each sip was better than the last. This tea has such a wonderful mouth feel and a complex delicate flavor. What a truly brilliant herbal tea. It’s taken me to the almond orchards of Spain in a single cup, and I don’t believe I’ll be coming home.

Tasting Notes

When we first tasted these unique almond blossoms, we were astounded. The spring pollen gives the flowers a delicious honey flavour and sweetness, combined with rich notes of almonds, and a soft, green note of buttery globe artichokes.

Quantity

Use 0.5g of blossom, (roughly six flowers) per 150ml of water.

Temperature

For the optimum infusion use 100°C (212°F) water.

Time

Infuse for 1 - 2 minutes, tasting regularly.

Infusions

You can infuse these flowers at least three times. With each careful infusion, different subtleties of flavour are revealed.

Cost Per Cup

30p per cup based on 0.5g of tea per 150ml of water and 3 infusions.

Terroir

Unique Almonds

Terroir is crucial to all plants: the pH of the soil, rainfall, sunshine, flora and fauna and biodiversity are among the factors that make an area unique - also affecting the flavour of the plants that grow there.

Just as grapes can differ from field to field, region to region and country to country - so do tea bushes and almond trees.
